Job description
Fabricator IIn this job you will set-up and operate one-two pieces of fabrication equipment of basic to moderate complexity using drawing, blueprints, or other specifications to form metal parts from various metal stock.As a Fabricator I you will:Select dies, tools, punches for proper thickness of materialForm material according to drawings using various radius diesInstall and align progressive compound, forming, blanking, piercing, coining, embossing, notching and combination punches and diesPerform preventative maintenance proceduresPerform first piece and in progress inspection to ensure that work meets all requirementsAdjust stroke, feed equipment, knock out devices, work holders and safety devicesInstall and align punches and dies in proper tool station to perform required operationsMonitor condition of equipment and tooling and inform supervisor or team lead when punches and dies need sharpening.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsConserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsContribute to team effort by training others in performance of fabrication tasks as neededInspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operationDocument actions by completing production and quality formsWe are looking for someone who:Is able to read and interpret basic to moderately complex drawings and bills of material.Can safely operate fabrication machinery such as press brake, punch press, etc.Has experience using small hand and power toolsPossesses basic computer skillsHolds a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill developmentMust be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishIdeally has up to one year of experience working as a metal fabricator in a manufacturing environmentThe physical demands of the job are:Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational TitlesFrequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)Lifting Demands:Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistanceLift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waistCarry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feetPush/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basisPush/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistancePostural Demands:Standing – continuousWalking – continuousBending/stooping – frequentSquatting/kneeling – frequentLifting – frequentMiscellaneous Demands:Gripping, manipulation, fingering – continuousVariable hand/power tool use – frequentTwo-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling and pushing including engine stands hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hoistsWhat we offer you:Pay Range is typically between $20 - $24 per hourPlease note the pay information shown above is a general guideline.
