Job description
Part-Time Janitorial CustodianThe Part-Time Janitorial Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment across office and manufacturing areas. This role supports the overall workplace by ensuring facilities are presentable, safe, and well-maintained for employees and visitors.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floorsDust surfaces and clean windows to maintain a tidy and professional appearanceEmpty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areasClean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and high-touch surfacesReplenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paperMaintain cleanliness in common areas including offices, breakrooms, hallways, and production spacesClean and maintain kitchen/breakroom areas, including appliances and surfacesMonitor and restock cleaning supplies as neededReport maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to appropriate personnelFollow all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipmentMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsPrevious experience in janitorial or custodial work preferredKnowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling practicesStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standardsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentAbility to follow instructions and safety guidelinesReliable attendance and strong work ethicEmbodies organizational core values (authentic, driven, humble, trustworthy)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workdayAbility to perform repetitive motions such as sweeping, mopping, and wipingAbility to lift 20–30 pounds regularlyAbility to operate janitorial equipment such as vacuums and cleaning cartsWork EnvironmentWork performed in both office and manufacturing environmentsExposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and industrial conditionsExposure to noise, equipment, and production activity in manufacturing areasMust wear required personal protective equipment in accordance with company safety policies, including company-provided safety glasses and employee-provided steel-toed footwear; additional PPE may be required based on job duties.Part-time position with a flexible schedule based on business needs; hours may vary to accommodate operational needs and employee availabilityPre-Employment RequirementsEmployment with Harper Industries is contingent upon successfully passing:Pre-employment background checkPre-employment drug screeningHarper Industries, Inc.
