Facilities Custodian ProfessionalLocation- Gulfport, MS 39501Contract- 3 YearsPosition SummaryThe Facilities Custodian Professional is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment across buildings and surrounding areas. This role involves performing a wide range of custodial and light maintenance tasks, ensuring facilities are properly maintained and hazards are reported in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on attitude, attention to detail, and the physical capability to perform labor-intensive duties.Key ResponsibilitiesSweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors to ensure cleanliness and safetyEmpty and sanitize trash receptacles; collect and sort recycling materialsClean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms and other common areasClean and service custodial equipment as requiredPerform minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and general equipmentLock and unlock windows, doors, and gates as neededReport any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate departmentEnsure grounds and surrounding areas are clean and well-maintainedUse a forklift to load and unload materials for the Vehicle Maintenance CenterQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrior custodial and groundskeeping experience preferredExperience operating a forklift preferredRequired Skills & Physical RequirementsAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsCapable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, and kneeling for extended periodsAbility to work in varied temperatures and conditionsComfortable climbing ladders and working from heightsFamiliarity with custodial tools, equipment, and materialsAble to safely operate, care for, and store custodial equipment
