Facilities Maintenance HelperEssence Hospitality Group is looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Helper to assist our Facilities Manager with the day-to-day upkeep of our three Grand Rapids restaurant properties.This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, likes variety in their workday, and wants to learn more about building maintenance and repairs. You do not need to be a skilled tradesperson. We are looking for someone who is reliable, comfortable using basic tools, willing to learn, and takes pride in keeping things working and looking their best.Working under the direction of our Facilities Manager, you will assist with:Basic repairs and maintenance projectsPainting, patching and touch-up workReplacing hardware, fixtures and other basic building itemsMoving, assembling and installing furniture or equipmentPreventative maintenance tasksOutdoor and seasonal property upkeepOrganizing tools, equipment and maintenance suppliesDetailed facility cleaning in areas outside normal restaurant cleaningCleaning vents, piping, walls, windowsills and other hard-to-reach areasIdentifying maintenance concerns and communicating them to the Facilities ManagerHelping with larger repair and improvement projects as neededTraveling between our three Grand Rapids restaurant locationsYou do not need years of maintenance experience. The right person will be:Dependable and able to show up consistentlyComfortable working with basic hand and power toolsWilling to learn new skillsAble to follow instructions and complete a task listDetail-oriented and able to notice when something needs attentionComfortable working independently on assigned tasks once trainedAble to safely lift, carry, climb, bend and perform physical work throughout the dayAble to travel between EHG restaurant locationsBasic maintenance, construction, painting, landscaping, custodial or handyman experience is helpful, but not required.Why EHG?This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Facilities Manager and develop practical building-maintenance skills while working across three unique restaurant properties.EHG also offers opportunities for increased responsibility and growth as skills and experience develop.Employees averaging at least 25 hours per week may also qualify for EHG benefit programs in accordance with plan eligibility requirements.Starting wage: $18/hour, with opportunity for wage growth based on experience, demonstrated skills and increased responsibility.
