Facilities Plumber - South County Health - 1st ShiftRepairs, adjustments, and replaces all aspects of the facilities plumbing system, including waste-vent-water piping, valves, and the various fixtures and equipment served by this system that would normally be covered by the state plumbing code. This is a 1st Shift 7am to 3:30pm M-F schedule.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work with local and state inspectors from the Water, Sewer, and Fire DepartmentsRepair or replace defective plumbing equipmentCoordinate functions of outside vendors and contractors as neededAssist in the coordination of shutdowns of the various plumbing systems as neededReceive work orders and coordinate work to fit daily schedule assigned by department director or designeeMaintain the facilities plumbing systemsRespond to emergency calls from facility departments requesting immediate assistance for plumbing system problemsPerform preventive maintenance on related equipment assigned by the director or designee and reports deficienciesMaintain necessary stock and tools in order to maintain, repair equipmentMaintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditionCoordinate repairs to plumbing system with other departmentsInstall plumbing systems and accessories as necessaryConduct daily rounds of building and related equipment as assignedRespond to emergency call-in situations.Report any deficiencies on specific jobs or equipmentAssist other trades as requiredAssist with facilities emergency events per policySupport and review the work of outside vendorsMaintain mechanicals spaces per Quality Assurance ProgramDocument work per department proceduresMust complete safety and technical training as assigned by department director or designeeMust wear appropriate PPE and other protective gear and equipment as requiredSkills & Competencies:Customer Service/Interpersonal SkillsProblem Solving skillsContributes to the success of the teamExhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and othersSome lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools (max. of 50 lbs)Must have general knowledge of building maintenance, and the use of tools and basic maintenance suppliesEducation / Certification(s): High School Diploma or GED or 2 years skilled trade or vocational school.
