Our current responsibilities include the management and operation of all County-owned buildings and properties; lease management; planning, construction, and renovation of facilities; capital renewal; utility management; custodial service; landscape maintenance and snow removal.Under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the cleaning and landscaping of County facilities; performs related work as assigned.(Illustrative Only) • Cleans and maintains County facilities • Identifies and reports repair needs • Performs grounds maintenance, including snow removal • May perform minor repairs on custodial equipment • May assist with special events Essential functions of this position include but not limited to driving, standing, walking, reaching, crouching, bending, and stooping to perform maintenance work; lifting and carrying up to sixty (60) pounds when loading and unloading trucks; team lifting up to 100 pounds, working with and around other employees and co-workers; working with frequent interruptions, repetitive motion of hand, wrists, elbow, and shoulders to perform duties, hearing and speech for communication with employees and co-workers; ability to safely use ladders up to 13 feet in height. This is primarily a custodial position approximately 80 to 90% of the time, with 10 to 20% of time spent outdoors performing landscape duties.One year of custodial experience; OR any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Custodial ExperienceLandscaping ExperienceThis position is non-exempt from overtime.This position is safety sensitive.Working knowledge of:Materials, equipment, and procedures used in custodial workMethods, practices, tools and materials used in a variety of building custodial and landscape workOccupational hazards and procedures for storing and handling hazardous materialsAbility to:Operate a variety of custodial and landscaping equipmentMaintain a safe workplaceRead and understand product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and apply appropriate safety precautionsEffectively handle lifting of objects weighing up to 60 poundsWork outdoors in varying weather conditionsReport to work during declared Facility department, county and state emergenciesPrepare and maintain records and reportsWork varying shifts, weekends, and holidaysWork safely and support the culture of workplace safetyEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the publicFollow written and verbal instructionsCommunicate effectively verbally and in writingCoconino County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
