Roofer PositionThe Columbia Public School district is seeking a Roofer to repair, replace, inspect and maintenance multiple roof types throughout the district. Carpentry will be a secondary duty for the selected applicant.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Roof inspections, repairs, replacements and maintenanceEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesPerforms time and material estimates for repairs and renovation projectsCarpentry duties include but are not limited to new construction, renovations and repairs; building walls; window repairs, door and lock repairs; furniture repairsUnderstands and adheres to Board policies and proceduresPerform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.District Expectations:All employees of the District are expected to adhere to the policies and regulations of the Board of Education, maintain appropriate certification and competencies necessary for the position, and demonstrate the values of the district at all times. For information on polices, regulations and values, visit Relationships:Reports To: Director of FacilitiesSupervises: NoneQualifications:Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions related to work assignments; Knowledge of the safe use of supplies and equipment; Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, building cleaning and maintenance procedures; Ability to maintain a cooperative and positive relationship with other people.Preferred: Welding/Fabricating Experience.The ideal candidate:Licensed Roofer, comfortable working on elevated platforms, Strong mental dexterity with a keen eye for detail, 5 years of roofing experience. Experience working with various types of roofing materials. Also will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
