Position Overview

Are you passionate about building bridges between schools, families, and the community? Weld County School District Re-8 is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and culturally responsive Family Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between our families and school administration at your specific school site. We are seeking a dedicated liaison to fill this stipend position at each of our elementary, K-8, and middle school buildings: Fort Lupton Middle School, Butler Elementary, Twombly Elementary, and Homyak K-8

Please Note: This position specifically covers our middle and elementary/K-8 buildings. There is no open position for the high school, as our District Family Engagement Liaison is housed out of Fort Lupton High School and directly manages those responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Liaison & Advocacy: Serve as a trusted, accessible point of contact for families and school administrators. Help families navigate school systems, address concerns, and advocate for their children's educational needs.

Event Coordination: Plan, promote, and execute high-impact, welcoming school and district-wide family engagement events (e.g., literacy nights, parent workshops, cultural celebrations, and back-to-school events).

Communication & Outreach: Coordinate and ensure the distribution of multilingual communication materials (newsletters, social media updates, flyers) to keep families informed and engaged.

Community Resources: Connect families with essential community resources through directing them to school based counselors/social workers/psychologists and/or community partnerships.

Expectations & Working Conditions After-Hours Availability: This position requires after-hours work, including evenings and occasional weekends, to host events and accommodate parents' work schedules. Willingness to meet after school in person or virtually as a family engagement team.

Multi-Site Collaboration: You will spend some time among the four designated school family engagement coordinators and district coordinator, collaborating closely with multiple school based and district administration.

District Alignment: You will work in close partnership with the District Family Engagement Liaison (housed at the High School) to ensure school-level events align seamlessly with district-wide goals and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills Certified Staff: Experience and passion engaging all families.

Bilingual Skills: Preferred (English/Spanish) but not required to effectively serve and communicate with our diverse community. If not bilingual, willingness to ensure translation and interpretation resources are readily available.

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, public speaking ability, and a warm, empathetic approach to problem-solving.

Organization: Strong event management skills and organizational skills.
