Family Assistant – Kildeer, IL

Salary Range $21.35 - $21.35 Hourly Position Type Part Time Education Level High School
Make a meaningful impact in your community. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and engaging Family Assistant to provide one-on-one support to an individual with an intellectual disability. In this rewarding role, you will work directly within the client's natural home environment and the surrounding community, fostering independence, facilitating social integration, and assisting with daily life skills.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay Rate: $21.35/hour
Hours: Part-time (Up to 15 hours per week)
Set Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Weekend Schedule: Flexible hours available on Saturday and Sunday
Key Responsibilities
Provide personalized care, companionship, and guidance to the client within their family home.
Safely transport and accompany the client on community outings, recreational activities, and local errands.
Encourage and assist the client in developing and maintaining daily living skills to promote personal independence.
Maintain open, positive communication with the client's family members to ensure consistent and supportive care.
Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment at all times.
Qualifications
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and current vehicle insurance.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to caregiving.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
