FAMILY ASSISTANT I DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE
In addition to those duties set out in the Agreement, the essential functions of the Individual's job duties include but are not limited to the following "Responsibilities":
General:
Lovingly nurture Dependent Adult ("Dependent Adult") to promote feelings of warmth, confidence, and security
Ensure Dependent Adult's safety at all times
Administer Dependent Adult's medicine and ensure that he receives all medication on time in accordance with his set schedule and per Caregiver Guidelines (This is considered a vital responsibility.)
Alert your supervisor in the event Dependent Adult's medicine appears missing or is low in quantity
Plan, provide and participate in appropriate fun & educational learning/developmental activities for Dependent Adult (Examples include, but are not limited to, building motor/learning skills, walks, play dates, trips to the park, zoo, and other destinations approved by Principal. Activities may include playing learning/educational games, coloring/craft time, flashcards, library, pool, feeding fish, golf cart rides, shopping, getting the mail, etc.)
Assist with learning and motor skills by working with arts, crafts, colors, textures
Provide creative learning: drawing, cooking, baking, outdoor exploring
Research the newest and fun motor skills games for advancement
Engage in fun educational learning with appropriate music, singing, dancing
Read animated stories and have Dependent Adult participate
Encourage Dependent Adult to read/look/explore appropriate books, books for fun, participate in book clubs
Teach appropriate writing skills, coloring, basic math skills in creative learning
Teach Dependent Adult manners, table manners, etiquette, and kindness
Supervise and interact/engage with Dependent Adult while allowing independent free play, educational discovery, exploration, and allow for supervised unstructured free time
Set up and maintain a calendar with fun educational activities, important reminders, FUN Club reminders, appointments including dates and times
Coordinate and engage in scheduled activities
Help establish and maintain the daily routine for Dependent Adult
Create theme days at home, art projects, and purchase the supplies needed
Prepare, check, and replace needed items in Dependent Adult's bag daily for FUN Club and make sure it is always ready to go (wipes, change of clean clothes, etc.)
Promote healthy eating habits to Dependent Adult as much as possible
Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks for Dependent Adult (breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner, as needed)
Wash, rinse, and sanitize Dependent Adult's cups, utensils, and dishes
Follow parental guidelines with regards to naptimes, feedings, and baths
Be productive while Dependent Adult is sleeping or atthe Fun Club and tend to other household needs such as household duties, meal preparation, tidying common areas, maintaining calendars, etc.
Maintain Dependent Adult's toiletries (toilet paper, wipes, etc.), bath supplies (soap, shampoo, bubble bath, etc.), and make a list of items that need replacing which may require routine trips to Publix, Target, Whole Foods, etc.
Tend to Dependent Adult's daily personal hygiene, including potty, bath time, teeth brushing, hair brushing, ear cleaning, nose cleaning, shaving, etc.
Bathe Dependent Adult when needed and tidy bath areas completely after bathing
Tidy/pick-up Dependent Adult's bedroom/play areas which includes emptying Dependent Adult's trash receptacles and replacing trash bags as needed; making beds in the morning and after naptime; stripping his bedding at least once per week (and as required by accidents) and wash, fold, and remake, etc.
Keep Dependent Adult's clothing areas (closets, drawers, etc.) neatly organized
Monitor Dependent Adult's clothing, shoes, linens and purchase replacements when needed
Assist Dependent Adult with packing and unpacking his clothing and personal belongings
Travel with Dependent Adult domestically and internationally, as requested
While traveling, Individual will assist with all aspects of caring for Dependent Adult. (The duties will be similar to what is listed in this agreement and may include extra or varied hours depending on the need.)
Closely supervise Dependent Adult when Principal travels
Provide for the safety of Dependent Adult at all times
Use positive reinforcement at all times to reward, promote, and encourage good behavior
Serve as a great role model for Dependent Adult and consistently encourage good manners
Be flexible regarding any Principal emergencies and unexpected changes in Principal's schedule
Other duties as requested and discussed in advance whenever possible
Facilitate and assist Dependent Adult with extra-curricular activities such as: Outdoor exploring, walking, hiking, golf, bowling, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, football, swimming/water play, soccer, fishing, play dates, museums, parks, music, aii, cooking, baking, football, fishing, and special projects
Maintain a calm, stable environment even in stressful situations (i.e. no shouting)
Daily Household: Communicate Estate Manager's directions to other household staff, as directed
Household calendar organization
Run household errands as necessary. Examples of this may include, but are not limited to dry-cleaning, pharmacy, post office, grocery shopping, household shopping, gift shopping, shopping for the family, etc.
Perform household organization, light clem1ing, and tidying daily
Conduct any necessary light maintenance, such as changing interior and exterior light bulbs, replacing batteries in household electronics, etc.
Walk the complete property daily to check for any needed maintenance or issues
Water any household plants, both indoor and outdoor
Create floral arrangements
Pay attention to the details of the household and report any concerns
Create lists of household repairs, maintenance, and services that are needed
Assist with home maintenance as needed
Research vendors needed for various household maintenance or events
Communicate with vendors
Supervise all vendors, including obtaining estimates and references
Responsible for clothing wardrobe, organization, mid closet maintenance
Seasonal wardrobe change
Properly hanging clothing/garments, neatly organizing, and properly storing
Assist with researching and/or purchasing items online for household, family, birthdays, holidays, and special functions/events, etc.
Minor Car Maintenance, as needed
Establish online accounts with stores and grocery/household/meal delivery
Online Ordering and Returns
Online Product Research
Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Working knowledge of Monday.com, AnyList, and any other software or apps used for the household
Culinary: Prepare meals as needed
Encourage Dependent Adult's assistance in the kitchen.
Maintain the food areas in the kitchen (refrigerator, cabinets, pantry, drawers, etc.) in a neat and organized manner
Check food items for expired labels and replace when needed
Clean up the kitchen, food prep cooking, and eating areas after meal preparation
Label leftovers with date and/or check for dates on leftovers in the fridge
Other culinary duties as requested mid discussed in advance whenever possible
Emergency Response: In case of an emergency, contact Dependent Adult's parents immediately. If necessary, Individual must not hesitate to call 911 or Poison Control. A list of phone numbers will be provided in the home. Please refer to the General Care Guidelines for more information.
Minor emergencies/injuries: Individual should contact the parent to report any minor bleeding injuries or minor head injuries that should occur, immediately following the administration of first aid care. Individual should also report signs of illness as soon as they are noticed (fever, rash, runny stools, etc.), & keep daily logs completed.
It is the responsibility of Individual to ensure that play areas are free from potential dangers (e.g. hot stoves, choking or strangulation hazards, breakables within reach) while Dependent Adult is under their care.
With Principal's permission, Individual can administer prescription and/or Over Counter Medicine(s) when needed for pain reliever for fever(s) or minor relief.
Automobile Operation: Drive Dependent Adult to locations, as necessary
Ensure Dependent Adult is properly secured in any vehicle in which he is being transported
Maintain cleanliness and organization for any vehicle transporting Dependent Adult
Notifying the Estate Manager of any necessary repairs or maintenance for any vehicle transporting Dependent Adult
Individual may not use a cell phone while the vehicle is in transit in the automobile with Dependent Adult, with the exception of an emergency situation which demands contacting appropriate authorities, medical providers, or Principal.
Communications: All questions should go through the Estate Manager first unless there's an emergency with Dependent Adult. For more details regarding Dependent Adult's medical or emergency needs, refer to his General Care Guidelines.
Individual should feel comfortable reaching out to Principal at any time should questions or problems arise, regarding impmiant concerns
Individual is expected to communicate with the other caregiver(s) during the transition.
Individual must contact Principal if any emergencies arise with Dependent Adult (e.g., if Dependent Adult gets hurt), use common sense, and take appropriate steps
Inform Principal of all scheduled events and behavioral issues related to Dependent Adult.
Follow Principal's wishes and preferences regarding Dependent Adult, discipline, other parenting issues, etc.
Communicate often with Principal about perspectives on development
Communicate any issues involving Dependent Adult
Good communication is essential on both sides. Both Principal and Individual are always expected to be honest and forthcoming regarding all aspects of Dependent Adult's care and the working relationship.
Keep personal texting/phone calls/social media usage to a minimum while Dependent Adult is present
While Individual is off, Individual agrees to stay in daily/weekly contact with Principal

Ergonomic Requirements: Be able to swim
Have sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform the responsibilities described herein, including walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds
Background Checks, Certifications and Licensure: A background check may be requested, and the Individual must agree to a background check - background check must be returned with a reasonable result
Maintain certification in Adult First Aid and Adult CPR
Maintain a valid passport, and a valid State Issued Driver's License and acceptable driving record
Drug Testing: Individual agrees and understands he/she will be required to pass a drug test prior to beginning employment.
Individual agrees and understands Principal may require additional drug testing based on reasonable suspicion that Individual is violating the substance abuse provisions in the Agreement
