Family Assistant Opportunity in Pasadena, MD
Position: Part-Time or Full-Time Family Assistant
Location: Pasadena, Maryland (between Annapolis and Baltimore)
Schedule:
Summer: Approximately 8:30 AM-5:30 PM
School Year: Approximately 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
Flexibility for occasional late evenings, overnights, weekends, date nights, and vacation periods as needed
Salary: $28-$32/hour, potentially higher for an exceptional candidate
Start Date: As soon as next week
Children: Ages 9 and 16

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys a blend of childcare, household support, transportation, errands, and family logistics.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and comfortable jumping in wherever needed. The family is looking for someone who can become a trusted and dependable part of their household for the long term.
Childcare & Transportation
Provide supervision and care for the children during summer break, afternoons, school breaks, occasional date nights, vacations, and other times as needed
Transport children to and from school, sports practices, jazz, youth groups, clubs, bands, and other extracurricular activities
Generally handle school pickups in Severn, with occasional separate or later pickups for after-school activities
Provide school drop-offs when needed, particularly following an overnight
Help with homework, school projects, and general academic support
Remind children of their household responsibilities and maintain their chore chart
Track weekly chores to help determine allowances
Serve as a responsible, encouraging, and positive presence for the children
Family Logistics & Errands
Manage and keep track of sports schedules, camps, doctor's appointments, social events, and other family commitments
Handle grocery shopping, Instacart deliveries, and maintaining the household grocery list
Restock household toiletries and other supplies
Pick up and drop off dry cleaning
Bring in Amazon, mail, and other deliveries
Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel
Help with family laundry and teach the children appropriate laundry skills
Assist with organizing children's outgrown clothing, toys, closets, and pantries
Household Support
Wash, fold, and put away family laundry
Wash dishes and wipe down kitchen counters
Keep playrooms and common areas tidy
Put away loose items and maintain an orderly household
Vacuum cat hair as needed
Keep track of household cleaning supplies and communicate when items need to be ordered
Coordinate with the family's cleaning team, who comes on Mondays
Put out fresh sheets on Monday mornings for the: Master Bedroom
Upstairs Guestroom
Children's rooms
Main Level Guestroom
Basement Guestroom
Help maintain the basement between its monthly cleaning service
Support the children's development of age-appropriate household responsibilities
Administrative & Home Management
Schedule and coordinate home maintenance and service providers
Be available to meet plumbers, repair professionals, cleaners, and other vendors
Wait for service professionals or important deliveries when needed
Serve as a point of contact for teachers, coaches, and extended family members
Keep family calendars and schedules organized
Help anticipate upcoming needs and keep the household running efficiently
Pet Care
Feed and walk household pets
Assist with veterinary and grooming appointments
Provide additional pet care when the family travels

Requirements
Prior experience as a nanny, family assistant, household assistant, or similar role
Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Reliable transportation
Ability to work occasional late evenings, overnights, weekends, and vacation periods
Strong organizational and time-management skills
