Healthcare Shares is seeking experienced family medicine physicians to serve as Family Medicine Physician Advisors. This role is ideal for physicians with firsthand experience in primary care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, care coordination, population health, value-based care, telehealth, digital health, healthcare operations, or healthcare innovation.
As a Family Medicine Physician Advisor, you will provide clinical and strategic insight to help Healthcare Shares evaluate, support, and grow healthcare startups within our venture capital fund, venture studio, and broader healthcare entrepreneurship ecosystem. This is a flexible, remote advisory opportunity for family medicine physicians who are passionate about improving healthcare access, care delivery, affordability, patient engagement, and outcomes through entrepreneurship and practical innovation.

โข Provide clinical and strategic guidance on healthcare startups focused on primary care, preventive care, chronic disease management, care coordination, telehealth, digital health, healthcare AI, population health, and related areas.
โข Support Healthcare Shares in evaluating healthcare startups, founders, business models, clinical relevance, workflow fit, scalability, patient impact, and social impact potential.
โข Advise portfolio companies, venture studio projects, and healthcare entrepreneurs on family medicine workflows, clinician adoption, patient engagement, care delivery models, and commercialization strategy when appropriate.
โข Offer relevant introductions, industry insight, and subject matter expertise across primary care, health systems, value-based care, healthcare technology, clinical operations, and startup ecosystems.
โข Participate in periodic advisory discussions and contribute practical recommendations based on your clinical experience and area of expertise.

โข MD or DO with experience practicing family medicine.
โข Board certification or board eligibility in family medicine preferred.
โข Experience in primary care operations, population health, value-based care, chronic disease management, telehealth, digital health, healthcare AI, startups, investing, advisory work, or healthcare innovation preferred.
โข Strong understanding of family medicine workflows, patient engagement, care coordination, preventive care, clinician needs, and real-world barriers to healthcare technology adoption.
โข Ability to commit approximately 2โ4 hours per month to advisory board participation and strategic advisory activities.

This Family Medicine Physician Advisor role offers the opportunity to receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares venture capital fund. Advisors may also have opportunities to support Healthcare Shares venture studio companies and startup clients, including potential sweat equity opportunities when applicable.
