nJob Summary
nThe physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients.
nEssential Functions
nnnAssesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
n
nnProvides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
n
nnProvides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
n
nnProvides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
n
nnEvaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
n
nnDocuments in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
n
nnCommunicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
n
nnParticipates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities. Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
