nOutpatient Clinic at a multi-site, non-profit health care center offering urgent care, primary family medical and pediatric care, preventative and restorative dental care, oral surgery, behavioral health services for children and adults, and substance use disorder treatment, and specialty services including optometry eye care, optical shop, acupuncture, nutrition consultations and podiatry. Clinic has five sites within Fitchburg, Gardner and Leominster with decades of experience as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), serving 36 communities in North Central Massachusetts.

nUnder the direction of the Medical Director, provides comprehensive and continuous primary care to a panel of patients.

nJob Description:

n· Provide primary care services to individuals and families.

n· Practice within the collaborative model with nurse practitioners and clinical psychologists;

n· Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population;

n· Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions;

n· Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate;

n· Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required;

n· Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards;

n· As appropriate to the position, participate in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs;

n· Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress;

n· Participate in On Call coverage;

n· Prescribe drug dosages and instruct patients in correct usage and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids;

n· Maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards;

n· Develop and present educational programs and/or workshops;

n· Advise and train subordinate clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise;

n· Manage patient care is a team effort that involves clinical and non-clinical staff interacting with patients; and

n· Perform other job-related duties as assigned

nMinimum Qualifications:

n· Medical Degree (MD or DO)

n· Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine

n· Current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine

n· ACLS or CPR/AED certified.

n· Current DEA, DEA-X and Massachusetts Controlled Substance licensure for prescriptive authority

n· Eligible for unrestricted health center and hospital privileges at facilities utilized by the health center.

n· Effective verbal and written communication skills
