Job description

Family Medicine Physician | New Mexico

Multiple locations and practice models

Ready to trade traffic for trailheads?

We're partnering with several established healthcare organizations across New Mexico to find Family Medicine physicians who want more than a job. Think wide open skies, a lower cost of living, a genuine sense of community, and a practice built around how you want to work.

Whether you're a new grad looking for the right place to plant roots or an experienced FM physician ready for more autonomy and less red tape, we have a spot for you in locations like Las Cruces, Gallup, Portales, or Silver City.

What You'll Be Doing

Outpatient-focused Family Medicine, with flexibility depending on the site: 100% outpatient options at most locations, and optional hospitalist or inpatient rotations for physicians who want the variety and the extra earning potential

Broad adult primary care: chronic disease management, preventive care, vaccinations, common acute complaints, and procedures based on your training and interest

Patient volumes generally in the 15 to 25 completed visits per day range once ramped up, with realistic, staged expectations while you build your panel

Support from a dedicated medical assistant, on-site or nearby lab, pharmacy, and imaging, and modern EMR tools including Dragon dictation and AI ambient scribing at several sites

New grads welcome at some locations, and "build your own adventure" practices where you help shape scope, procedures, and workflow

Schedules Built Around You

No two of our partner clinics run the exact same schedule, and that's the point. Depending on the site, you can find:

Four-day or 4.5-day workweeks

Minimal or no call, and phone-only call rotations where offered

No inpatient admitting responsibility at several locations

Optional hospitalist rotations for physicians who want them, with compensation that reflects the added responsibility

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary with productivity (wRVU) incentive models layered on top

Signing bonuses and relocation assistance available, varying by site

Loan repayment options may be available, including New Mexico's state loan repayment program (up to $75,000 per year) for eligible physicians

New Mexico also offers a free initial license for new grads and an annual physician tax credit

CME allowance and dedicated CME days

Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, retirement with employer match, and malpractice coverage

Visa sponsorship may be available, including J-1 and H-1B candidates considered case by case

Why New Mexico?

New Mexico isn't just a place to practice medicine, it's a place to actually live. A few reasons our physicians stay:

Real cost of living relief. Your salary goes further here than it does in most major metros.

Outdoor access, year-round. Hiking, skiing, climbing, fishing, and some of the best sunsets in the country, right out your back door.

Rich culture and history. From Native American and Hispanic heritage to a thriving arts and food scene, New Mexico's communities are anything but generic.

Close-knit, mission-driven teams. These are organizations where leadership knows your name, decisions move fast, and a good physician who wants to grow a service line gets the runway to do it.

Room to build something real. Several of these opportunities let you shape a brand-new or growing practice rather than stepping into someone's else system.

Easy access to bigger cities. Albuquerque, El Paso, Flagstaff, and Colorado's front range are all within driving distance for when you want a change of scenery.

Who We're Looking For

Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine (outpatient Internal Medicine candidates considered at some sites)

Comfortable managing broad adult primary care in a rural or community setting

Friendly, culturally aware, and genuinely interested in becoming part of the community you serve

Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus at several locations, though not required everywhere

New grads and experienced physicians alike are encouraged to apply

Interested?

We represent multiple New Mexico healthcare organizations actively hiring Family Medicine physicians right now, each with its own culture, schedule, and compensation structure. Tell us what matters most to you (schedule, call, location, income potential) and we'll match you with the site that fits.
