Job description
An independent, non-profit acute care community hospital on the Southern Coast of New Jersey is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with surgical office experience to join our growing, collaborative provider team. As a key member of our Surgical Team , you will support both general and vascular surgery patients in the clinic and hospital settings, with the opportunity to expand your skills as a First Assist in the OR.
Position Overview
In this role, you will:
Support general and vascular surgical specialties within the same clinical location
Conduct patient evaluations in the outpatient setting
Coordinate care with physicians, imaging centers, and specialty providers
Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies
Manage prescription refills and prior authorizations
Triage patient calls and electronic messages
Provide wound care, including dressing changes and debridements
Collaborate closely with Anesthesia, ED, Hospitalists, and surgical teams
Review pre-op clearances and intervene as needed for abnormal results
Finalize discharge documentation and coordinate follow-up care
Educate patients on post-discharge care and recovery expectations
Perform in-hospital surgery consultations and patient rounds
Assist with and perform procedures as appropriate

Requirements:
2 Years of experience working in a Surgical role as a Nurse Practitioner
Nurse Practitioner certification
Have or ability to obtain a valid NJ State Board APN license, CDS and DEA
