Opportunity Overview
The Federated Registry Data scientist will contribute to the design, development and operation of a multi-country federated registry platform based on the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model (OMOP CDM), in collaboration with specialized vendors for Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), hosting, and federated analyses.
The role will serve as a primary point of contact between Rhythm, the selected vendors, and participating registries for data-related activities. The Data Scientist will oversee the local registry data collection (mapping, transformation, quality-check) and the federated analyses specifications and outputs within a federated OMOP CDM-based environment provided and maintained by the vendors.
Responsibilities & DutiesFederated analyses
Oversee and supervise the vendor’s technical and analytical deliverables
Oversee data collection, data quality check, ETL logic and data mapping to OMOP CDM
Lead preparation and review of the statistical analysis plan, cohort definitions, variable definitions, and federated query specifications supported and executed by the vendors based on research questions proposed by the Scientific Committee, the participating centers or internally
Perform external research proposals’ feasibility assessment before review by the Scientific Committee
Ensure analytical outputs are clear and consistent with research questions, develop report for review by the scientific committee, and support the drafting of related publications
Collaboration with vendors
Collaborate with the vendor on source data review, OMOP mapping, ETL logic, and data quality checks, helping to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality issues
Help with data-related questions raised by the vendor and coordinate timely responses from centers when local input is required
Ensure that data-related discussions remain aligned with Rhythm’s scientific objectives, project scope, timelines, and budget
Collaboration with sites/registries owners
Support sites in understanding project data requirements, minimum datasets, expected formats, timelines, and quality control processes
Coordinate with sites and the vendor to investigate data quality issues such as missing data, inconsistent values, duplicate records, etc.
Collaborate with research teams (scientific committees, internal stakeholders, participating sites) to develop insights and drive evidence generation
Perform any other relevant tasks as needed to support the team and company objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Data Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent scientific or technical discipline
Strong experience with healthcare data sources, including clinical registries, electronic health records, claims databases, healthcare databases, and real-world evidence projects
Strong proficiency in R and/or Python
Knowledge of healthcare standards, including OMOP CDM, Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR), Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT), etc.
Knowledge of statistical methods in real-world evidence (RWE)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Cross-functional mindset focused on a seamless collaboration with internal and external partners
Fluent in English
This role is home office based.Rhythm operates in a hybrid-work model. Candidates applying must be willing and able travel internationally.
