Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in Phoenix, Arizona, is an internationally renowned neuroscience institute and leader in neurology, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology. Barrow has a traditional tripartite academic mission of providing patient-centered patient care, training the next generation of physician leaders, and conducting clinically relevant research. Drawing patients from the entire United States, Mexico, Canada, and worldwide, BNI has 14 subspecialties in Neurovascular and Stroke disorders, Epilepsy, Headache, Sports Neurology and Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Neuro-Oncology, Neuro-Otology, Movement disorders, Neuromuscular diseases, Alzheimer’s disease and Cognitive disorders, Neurocritical Care, Neuroimmunology, Neuroendocrinology, and Sleep. Our neurologists work closely with over 30 neurosurgeons and 30 PhD and MD scientists in a facility that is uniquely state-of-the-art. All BNI faculty hold academic title appointments with University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix and Creighton University School of Medicine.
Join a Neurology Department comprised of over 60 faculty members, a vibrant neurology residency program, and subspecialty fellowships. The Department includes state-of-the-art outpatient facilities and a vast array of clinical resources, including dedicated outpatient neurology infusion center, neuropsychology, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, speech therapy, and acclaimed community outreach programs. Key Responsibilities:
The Program Director will oversee the strategic direction, curriculum, and UCNS accreditation of the one-year fellowship while delivering expert clinical care for Alzheimer’s, FTD, and related disorders. Key responsibilities include coordinating didactics, managing recruitment, mentoring trainees, and expanding the program’s clinical research portfolio.
Job Specifications:
Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology (ABPN) or Psychiatry with UCNS subspecialty certification. Documented success in medical education, trainee mentorship, and specialized cognitive disorder management is required. Must be able to obtain a state of Arizona medical license at time of employment. BNI academic rank and track will match applicant’s qualifications.
