Job description
The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine , part of Advocate Health—one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States, is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join our full-time academic faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC . This position supports the department’s mission of delivering exceptional patient care while advancing education, collaboration, and innovation within a growing academic health system.
Position Highlights
Provide specialized care for patients with complex visual disorders related to neurologic disease, including brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other disorders of the nervous system
Evaluate patients with unexplained vision loss, diplopia, visual field defects, and headaches
Collaborate closely with neurosurgery, neurology, otolaryngology, and other subspecialists across the institution
Serve as a consultant to referring physicians and provide direct patient care as part of multidisciplinary treatment teams
Teach and mentor ophthalmology residents, fellows, and medical students
Participate in clinical research and scholarly activity in a supportive academic environment

Medical Degree (MD or DO)
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology or Neurology Residency
Fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology
Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology
Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
Active DEA license in NC
