ACO, Inc. Fiberglass Assembly PositionThe Fiberglass Assembly will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.Fiberglass Assembly Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipmentProduces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerancesMeasures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specificationsMaintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenanceSets up production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipmentChooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machinesApplies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerancesIdentifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errorsInspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setupStarts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptionsMaintains a clean, safe, and orderly work areaComplies with Company policies and proceduresFiberglass Assembly Competencies:Problem Solving Attention to Detail Teamwork Technical CapacityFiberglass Assembly Required Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociates degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program preferredAt least one year of related experience requiredCompletion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirementsFiberglass Assembly Additional Eligibility Qualifications:Ability to follow directions and work well in a teamMust be able to read and use a tape measureInterpret and translate engineering designs and documentationThorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulationsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareGood communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments must read and write in English to fill out daily reportsFiberglass Assembly Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time.Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear.Must be able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 75lbs and maximum of 100lbs.Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.This position is designated as "safety sensitive" pursuant to A.R.S.
