Efficient's Field Application Engineers are the technical bridge between our customers and our engineering team, guiding customers from first evaluation through design-in and production. This position is a unique opportunity to shape how a new processor architecture is adopted in the market as part of a highly interdisciplinary team, helping to demonstrate the value of Efficient's breakthrough technology. You'll work directly with customers and help write the playbook: building reference designs, demos and application notes, and feeding what you hear from customers straight back to our Product and Engineering teams.If you have experience as a Field Application Engineer who wants to be part of an intensely skilled team and wants to have an immediate impact on the growth of our Sales organization, we want to talk with you!Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and present Efficient's technical value proposition to customers, from engineers to executivesUnderstand customer applications and system requirements, and propose optimal Efficient-based solutionsPartner with Regional Sales Managers, distributors and representatives to secure design-wins and drive them to productionProvide hands-on technical support throughout the design cycle, from evaluation and board bring-up to debugging and optimizationBuild custom demos, proofs of concept and benchmarks that show Efficient's performance and energy advantageRespond quickly and accurately to technical inquiries, RFQs and customer escalations, coordinating with internal engineering as neededAuthor reference designs, application notes and training materials for customers and channel partnersServe as the voice of the customer, feeding requirements and competitive insights back to Product and EngineeringBuild and maintain strong technical relationships with key customer engineering teamsRequired Qualifications & Experience RequirementsBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field is required.Minimum 4 years of embedded software development experience with an understanding of embedded hardware including digital and analog circuits.Experience with ARM or RISC-V microcontrollers.Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems; Python for scripting, tooling and test automationHands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers and JTAG/SWD debuggersMinimum 2 years of successfully supporting customer product development.Experience working with embedded software, sensor fusion algorithms, edge AI models and interfacing with wireless modules or wireless SOCs.Experience at a semiconductor company or MCU vendor supporting design-winsBackground in target markets such as industrial IoT, wearables, smart home, medical or defenseWillingness to travel to customer sites, up to 25% of time.Personal Skills RequiredStrong customer communication skills in English, written and spoken.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work with minimal supervision.Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholdersComfortable presenting to customers, including live demos and whiteboard sessionsStrong troubleshooting skills and persistence with ambiguous or undocumented problemsComfortable in a fast-paced startup where processes are still being builtAble to juggle multiple customer engagements and prioritize by business impactWe offer a competitive base salary for this role, generally ranging from $160,000 to $230,000, plus a 10% annual bonus, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits.
