nField Auto Appraiser - Catastrophic Loss

nnCedar Rapids/Davenport, IA, Minneapolis, MN, St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO or Denver, CO

n nPRIMARY PURPOSE : To inspect, identify, and evaluate auto vehicles involved in a loss.

nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

nnnAppraises and determines costs of repairs to damaged vehicle in the field; determines repair versus replace and parts utilization.

n

nnEvaluates and determines if the vehicle is repairable or salvageable based on industry standard estimatics software.

n

nnTravels to inspection locations to appraise vehicles in the field.

n

nnPrepares estimates using estimatics software.

n

nnWorks directly with auto repair facilities to determinate supplemental repair processing and provides a supplemental estimate.

n

n nADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

nnnPerforms other duties as assigned.

nnTravels as required.

nnCatastrophe Deployment & Ongoing Field Expectations Prior catastrophe (CAT) appraisal experience is a strong plus for this position. The role may require deployment in support of CAT operations, particularly during peak summer months. Deployments can involve extensive travel, extended work hours, and temporary relocation based on business needs. During non‑CAT periods, colleagues are expected to consistently manage daily appraisal volume within their assigned home territory , demonstrating strong time management, autonomy, and adherence to productivity and quality standards. Candidates located in or near Cedar Rapids/Davenport, IA, Minneapolis, MN, St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO or Denver, CO are especially beneficial, as these markets support sustained daily claim volume and require the ability to effectively manage workloads when not deployed for CAT events.

n nQUALIFICATIONS

nEducation & Licensing

nHigh school diploma or GED required. Licenses as required by state guidelines.

nExperience

nTwo (2) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of appraisal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

nSkills & Knowledge

nnnStrong knowledge of automobiles

n

nnAbility to understand and utilize appraisal software

n

nnPC literate, including Microsoft Office products

n

nnStrong organizational skills

n

nnExcellent interpersonal skills

n

nnExcellent negotiating skills

n

nnAbility to work in a team environment

nnAbility to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

nAs required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $51,000-$75,000/Year. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
