Job description
Our client is seeking a hands-on professional to manage day-to-day operations for pilot-scale wastewater treatment systems in rural communities. This contract role requires an engineering degree, mechanical troubleshooting skills, and 50-75% travel to support sustainable sanitation infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Lead the daily operation, routine inspection, and sensor monitoring of pilot-scale decentralized wastewater treatment systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, execute hands-on maintenance, and perform process optimization in rural field environments
Collect water samples and perform routine wastewater quality analysis at local laboratories following established testing protocols
Manage system startup, installation oversight, and ongoing testing to ensure compliance with permitting regulatory mandates
Represent the organization in local communities, conducting preliminary site assessments and communicating project status to stakeholders
Qualifications
Education: Bachlors Degree in an applicable engineering field (environmental, mechanical or chemical preferred)
Technical Skills: Proven experience with hands-on mechanical equipment, troubleshooting system processes (specifically in wastewater or water treatment), and operating in laboratory or prototyping environments.
