Field Engineer / Overhead Crane Mechanical Project Manager
Richmond, VA | To $130,000 + 100% PAID Employee Health Benefits
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined engineering professional who enjoys technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and hands-on project leadership in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage industrial crane projects from planning through completion, overseeing schedules, budgets, quality, and safety.
Conduct field inspections, site evaluations, equipment assessments, and troubleshooting.
Support engineering design, technical reviews, equipment upgrades, repairs, and modernization projects.
Coordinate customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering submittals.
Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, CMAA, ASME, and ANSI standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in industrial engineering, maintenance, or mechanical contracting.
Experience managing industrial construction or capital improvement projects.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, brakes, bearings, wire ropes, and structural components.
Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Overhead crane, hoist, or industrial material handling experience is a plus.
