Job description

At Sunrun, we're on a mission to change the way the world interacts with energy, and we're building a company and brand that puts power at the center of life. To do it, we're designing a dynamic culture where employee development, well-being, and safety come first. It's why we've become the home solar and battery company in America. We're unlike any other residential energy company. Our vertically integrated model gives us total control over every part of the energy lifecycle - from sale through installation and beyond - so you can find endless opportunities for growth. Come join a career you can grow in and a culture you can run with.

Who We Are

We're on a mission to make energy more reliable and affordable for more people. We provide an opportunity with storage and solar to help people access greater energy independence without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the country and has a mission to bring stably priced resilient power to the masses.

About Sunrun

Since 2007, Sunrun has grown into America's home solar and battery company. We got here by putting our people's safety and growth first. That's why we created the Power+ program: to invest in your skills. We train you to work across different teams-from qualifying homes for solar, to installing, to inspecting the final work, and servicing existing systems. This versatility helps limit reduced hours and enhances job security in an industry affected by seasons. It also means you can solve customer problems in one visit, keeping you safely off the road and moving your career forward.

Overview

The Hybrid Field Technician supports both the beginning and end of the residential solar installation pipeline by performing site assessments prior to installation, inspections post-install, and other lone worker and team field work as needed for the business. This role is critical in ensuring that every project begins with accurate data and ends with a successful final inspection.

You'll follow dynamic, intraday schedules and work across a variety of job sites, helping ensure each system meets both internal standards and local code requirements. This is a fast-paced, field role ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, customer interaction, and making a daily impact on operational flow.

Confirm installed systems match approved plans and meet workmanship, code, and safety standards.

Collaborate with install teams and project managers to resolve inspection-related issues as needed.

Provide documentation (photos, checklist, notes) verifying inspection readiness.

Discuss system installations with the AHJ and customers.

Represent the company professionally during all customer-facing interactions.
