About Us
Rototec is an established geothermal drilling company with a long history of success in Europe. We are now bringing our technology, experience, and innovative drilling methods to the United States as we expand throughout the Northeast.
Our company combines technological innovation with a straightforward set of values: honesty, integrity, hard work, and doing the job right.
We are looking for a mechanically inclined construction professional who is ready to grow into a key project management role with our U.S. operations. This is a field-focused position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working around equipment and construction sites, coordinating people and projects, and learning how things work.
Geothermal experience is not required. We are looking for the right construction and mechanical aptitude and will provide training in geothermal drilling and Rototec's methods and technology.
What You'll Do
As a Field Project Manager, you will work closely with our management team, field crews, customers, engineers, contractors, and other project partners to help take geothermal drilling projects from planning through completion.
Coordinate day-to-day activities on geothermal drilling projects, including site preparation, drilling operations, materials, equipment, and field crews
Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scope of work
Help plan upcoming work and ensure crews, equipment, and materials are ready when needed
Monitor project progress, schedules, costs, and quality
Communicate with customers, general contractors, mechanical contractors, engineers, and other project partners
Coordinate with field crews to keep projects moving safely and efficiently
Identify project issues early and work with the team to develop practical solutions
Participate in jobsite meetings and communicate project updates to management
Assist with project documentation, daily reports, drilling records, change documentation, and other project records
Help ensure work is performed according to project specifications and customer requirements
Support jobsite safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments
Monitor equipment needs and coordinate maintenance or repairs when necessary
Help ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and construction requirements
Travel to project sites throughout the Northeast as required
What We're Looking For
We're interested in someone who has gained real-world construction or mechanical experience and is ready for the next step in their career.
The right candidate will likely have:
Approximately 2-5 years of experience in construction, mechanical contracting, drilling, excavation, utilities, heavy equipment, field service, project coordination, or a related environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in equipment and how things work
Experience working on active construction sites
Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple priorities
The confidence to communicate with field crews, contractors, customers, and management
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make practical decisions in the field
A willingness to learn new equipment, technology, construction methods, and geothermal drilling practices
Basic ability to read construction drawings and specifications , or the aptitude and willingness to learn
A valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Northeast
A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is helpful, but relevant field or mechanical experience can be equally valuable.
Previous geothermal experience is not required.
Physical & Work Environment
This is not a desk-only project management position. You will spend significant time at active construction and drilling sites and should be comfortable working in a field environment.
The position may require:
Walking and standing for extended periods on active jobsites
Climbing, bending, kneeling, and navigating uneven terrain
Working around drilling rigs, heavy equipment, vehicles, and moving mechanical equipment
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Exposure to construction-site noise and conditions
Occasional lifting and handling of tools, materials, or equipment
Why Join Rototec?
