Field Service Technician (Surface) - Virginia, MN AreaSandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is looking for a Field Service Technician (Surface) in the Virginia, MN area. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.Key performance areas include:Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites.New equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision.Inspecting equipment for proper performance and determining faults and malfunctions.Adjusting equipment and repairing/replacing defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work.Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.Completing accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Staying current with the industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.Building strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.Staying current and in compliance with all Sandvik, Customer, State, and Federal regulatory safety policies.Ensuring customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility.The Field Service Technician will spend their time working in surface mining, so candidates must be comfortable with these conditions. As this role requires travel, you will be provided with a company vehicle. There are multiple sites assigned to this role, from 30 minutes away to 2 hours away. Typically you will be home for overnights unless called out of state for coverage.This position is located in the Virginia, MN area.Your profile:You possess a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields and a minimum of 3-7 years industry related experience. Diesel and high voltage electrical experience would be an advantage. You are a team player with excellent communication and active listening skills and the ability to maintain strong customer relations with internal and external customers. You are flexible and self-motivated, with a drive to achieve customer satisfaction.The Field Service Technician will also possess:A safety champion capable of working alone and stopping work, if required.Excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Possess strong interpersonal skills with a customer service based personality.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.Must conform to ISO Standards.Minimum Qualifications:Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields or equivalent years of professional field/technical experience and a minimum of 3-7 years industry related experience.Must have mining equipment experience.Technical experience to include diesel and electrical experience.Success in team environments, with excellent communication skills.Previous success in self-motivated roles.Previous success in customer satisfaction.Ability to read blueprints, and interpret equipment schematics.Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and use safety equipment.Preferred qualifications:Active Listening skills.Success with both internal as well as external customers.Flexibility in the workplace.Location: Virginia, MN area - multiple sites.Travel Requirements: At least 50% of time, via truck or air.Compensation Range: $40.00 to $48.00/hour.Schedule: Typically 40 hours/week, but subject to overtime as needed.Work authorization: Must have the legal right to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship.This position will be posted a minimum of 5 days, or until filled.Benefits: Sandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package, including a competitive benefits package of health, dental, and disability insurance and an outstanding 401(k) retirement savings plan.
