Job description
Field WelderGreat Basin Industrial is seeking experienced Field Welders to join our traveling construction team. This position performs high-quality welding on aboveground storage tanks, structural steel, piping, and other industrial components at project sites across the United States. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and takes pride in producing quality workmanship while working in a fast-paced industrial construction environment. Travel is required, and projects may involve extended schedules depending on customer and project needs.Key Responsibilities:Perform SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and other welding processes as required by project specifications.Weld structural steel, storage tanks, piping, and miscellaneous metal components in accordance with approved welding procedures.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication details.Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, grinding, and aligning components.Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.Operate welding machines, torches, grinders, and other hand and power tools safely.Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company housekeeping standards.Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.Work effectively with supervisors, fitters, laborers, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.Travel to project sites throughout the United States and work extended hours as required.
