nAs a Finance Intern at StandardAero, you will gain hands-on industry experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with our teams that raise the standard of excellence. This individual will support our Scottsdale headquarters with process improvement, day-to-day general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping functions to facilitate successful financial processes and ensure continuity of operations. Additionally, you’ll partner with finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making while gaining exposure to financial systems, tools and best practices used in a global organization.
nThis is a 10-12-week, paid internship and part-time basis.
nWhat you’ll do:
nnAssist with various general accounting activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts at month end close
nAssist with various financial data and reports, including sales and gross margin reports by customer and product line financial statements
nAssist with annual operating plan schedules as needed
nAssist in various other reports and summaries as needed
nAssist with data collection as assigned to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
nPerforms filing and general administrative tasks
nAssist with monthly and quarterly budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
nPrepare and support development of: Management Reports, Dashboards, and Executive-level presentation
nAnalyze financial and operational data to identify risks and opportunities.
nBuild and maintain financial models to evaluate: Business Performance, Trends & Key Drivers, Strategic Drivers
nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (commercial, operations, accounting, program management) to: Understand business drivers, Support leadership decision-making, and improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
nSupport process improvement and automation initiatives within FP&A.
nParticipate in ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic projects.
nPerforms other related duties as required
n nPosition Requirements:
nnMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
nHigh School Diploma or GED required
nPursuing a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Graduate/Masters degree students can be considered as well.
nKnowledge of basic accounting principles
nFamiliarity with basic accounting software or accounting spreadsheets
nProficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
nDemonstrated excellent customer service
nDemonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in written format
nStrong planning and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and a focus on delivery
nSelf-directed, results-oriented, and flexible
nWorks well under pressure and adheres to tight deadlines
nAbility to sit for long periods
nAbility to view computer monitor for long periods
n nPreferred Characteristics:
nnProficiency in Microsoft applications, primarily Excel
nFamiliar with Power BI, Oracle systems, or other ERP's (SAP)
