Finance Supervisor – Project Based
Keen Search is working on an exclusive search with a growing and well-established specialty construction company to identify a Finance Supervisor – Project Based for its Cincinnati team.
This is a hands-on finance role supporting project financial performance, operational decision-making, and overall business results.
Construction or EPC experience is required. We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience in job costing, project accounting, WIP, project controls, cost forecasting, and project profitability.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, Senior FP&A Analyst, Senior Project Accountant, Project Controls professional, or Finance Supervisor who is ready to take on broader responsibility within a project-based organization.

The ideal candidate can look at a project and understand the relationship between job costs, labor, WIP, forecasting, project controls, and profitability , then work directly with Operations to identify issues and improve project performance. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys being close to the business and wants to have a direct impact on project and operational results.
What You'll Do
Project Finance & Job Costing
Maintain and analyze accurate job cost and project financial data
Analyze project costs, labor, revenue, margins, and overall financial performance
Partner with Operations to identify project cost issues and financial risks early
Review project performance against budget and forecast
Analyze project profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance
Provide financial analysis and insight to project and operational leadership
WIP & Project Accounting
Support WIP reporting, project accounting, and project financial analysis
Review project financial data for accuracy and completeness
Assist with monthly financial reporting and close activities
Analyze project-to-date results, budget variances, and cost trends
Maintain the integrity of accounting, project reporting, and financial systems
Forecasting & Financial Planning
Support annual budgeting and planning
Prepare regular project and company financial forecasts
Develop and maintain cost forecasts
Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast
Monitor SG&A and overhead costs and support overall cost control
Project Controls & Operations
Partner closely with Operations and project leadership as a financial advisor
Support project controls and identify financial risks before they impact project results
Monitor labor efficiency, project costs, and operational performance
Provide reporting related to project performance and estimating history
Identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency and operational cost management
Support process improvement initiatives across Finance and Operations
Business Partnership
Serve as a finance partner to leadership and Operations
Communicate financial results, trends, risks, and opportunities to non-financial stakeholders
Support cash management related to project cash position, collections, and vendor payments
Help manage and improve financial reporting and technology systems
Support Lean and process improvement initiatives focused on labor efficiency and operational performance
What We're Looking For
5+ years of progressive finance, accounting, project accounting, FP&A, or project controls experience
Construction or EPC experience is required
Hands-on experience with job costing and project financial analysis
Experience with WIP reporting and project accounting
Understanding of project controls, cost forecasting, and project profitability
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
Ability to partner effectively with Operations and project leadership
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
Occasional travel as needed
