Location: Weatherford, TX (West DFW)
Salary: $120,000-$150,000 Base + Profit Sharing + Benefits
Employment: Full-Time | On-Site
The Opportunity
Build Partners has been exclusively engaged to identify an experienced Construction Controller for a well-established, family-owned commercial general contractor in West DFW.
With nearly four decades in the construction industry and approximately $250M in annual revenue, our client offers an exciting opportunity to join a successful, growing business with a strong reputation and an established leadership team.
This is not a traditional executive-level CFO position.
We're looking for a hands‑on accounting leader who enjoys being involved in the detail, takes ownership of financial operations, and thrives in a busy, high-volume construction environment.
You'll work closely with senior leadership, take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting function, and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business as it continues to grow.
What You'll Be Doing
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll oversight and cash management.
Lead month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting and internal controls.
Manage construction job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting and project profitability reporting.
Oversee progress billing, retainage, change orders and construction contract accounting.
Partner with project managers and operational leadership to monitor financial performance.
Lead and develop the accounting team while identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits and financial compliance.
What We're Looking For
Proven accounting experience within a commercial general contractor, industrial contractor or specialty construction business.
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller position.
Strong working knowledge of construction job costing, WIP reporting and financial statements.
Experience with Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) and/or Sage Intacct.
Advanced Excel skills and a solid understanding of GAAP.
A practical, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to manage a busy accounting function.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
A CPA is not required.

Location
