Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region. Since 1965, TMC has forged a special relationship with the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Texoma residents have come to depend on TMC to meet a spectrum of physical, mental and spiritual needs. TMC has responded with unique services to provide the kind of sophisticated, experienced care that was once available only in major metropolitan areas. This position is responsible for all account follow-up including communication with all parties who may have a bearing on account resolution. The financial counselor will visit with patients or family members and assist them in answering any questions or concerns they may have regarding billing and payment issues.
Qualifications
High School or equivalent
One year of collection, customer service in a collection or healthcare environment
Basic PC experience, 10-key calculator, keyboarding, and use of other office machines such as copier, fax, etc. Knowledge of third-party payers - Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance. Outstanding people skills, including telephone technique, personal appearance, organization skills, communicable skills (oral and written), independent and self-motivated, flexible, analytic and arithmetic skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills.
