Job description
Financial Reporting Analyst
nThe Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing analysis of the organization's financial results. Through financial modeling, this job provides insights into the company's financial status, including cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, debt, equity, operating income, working capital, etc. Under moderate supervision, this job's analysis and modeling is used by senior management to inform business and financial decisions.
nKey Responsibilities and Duties
nnnAssists in preparing financial models and calculating key metrics that analyze monthly financial results in order to identify drivers and explain key variances.
n
nnAssists with completing forecasts and modeling and ensures that results are timely and accurate.
n
nnAssists with completing re-forecasting activities and updating/evolving forecast models.
n
nnParticipates in general ledger analysis during the closing process to help ensure that financial statements are accurate.
n
nnSupports the preparation of ad hoc departmental reports that analyze departmental financial results versus budget/forecasts.
n
nnDrafts financial reports and presentations for management that inform business and financial decisions.
n
nnSeeks guidance from management regarding challenges that require more advanced knowledge.
n
nnAssists with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
n
nnAssists with the execution of controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
n
n nMinimum Qualifications
nnn2 years of prior experience in an accounting or finance role
n
nnStrong working knowledge of SEC and U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
n
n nPreferred Qualifications
nnnBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
n
nn3+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or public accounting
n
nnExperience supporting external audits and working with auditors
n
nnSolid understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements
n
nnAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience preparing executive‑level presentations (PowerPoint or similar)
n
nnPrevious experience with an enterprise reporting tool - Workiva is a plus
n
nnDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a regulated environment
n
n nEducational Requirements
