Reporting to the Title IV-E Research Administrator, this position will provide financial support to the Title IV-E Child Welfare Program. The Title IV-E Child Welfare Fellowship is an opportunity to provide additional resources and support to students committed to working in the Child Welfare System - Children's Protective Services, Foster Care, Licensing and Adoption. The aim of this program is to recruit, retain and educate students to be leaders in the field of child welfare. The School of Social Work is state lead on this collaborative project, and this position will work with various financial contacts at the State of Michigan and other Michigan public Universities. Additionally, this position will provide general administrative and financial responsibilities within the SSW-Research Office.Responsibilities*50% Title IV-E Program Financial SupportComplete Monthly Invoicing for IV-E ProjectWork closely with project's subcontracting partners for both budgeting and invoicing needs under the supervision of the IV-E AdministratorPrepare and draft budgets and financial amendment changes with guidance of IV-E AdministratorPrepare and submit effort changes as neededAttend recurring monthly meetings (both with our state/subcontractors and our sponsor, MDHHS)Various other responsibilities and tasks supporting IV-E under direction of IV-E Administrator50% Research Administration Office SupportHSIP (Human Subject Incentive Payment) ApprovalsReview monthly tracking systems (Proposals, Awards) and send reminders to the Research Office as necessaryReview project budgets and work with various research administrators to approve temporary position requests based on approved project budgets and fundingReview and approve purchasing and reimbursement requests aligned with sponsored or non-sponsored guidelinesAssist in the maintenance and updating of financial reporting tools and system used in the Research OfficeOther various tasks assisting Research Administrators and Research Office as identified and assigned by the Director of Research and Financial OperationsRequired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree with 2 to 3 years experienceDemonstrated experience with invoicing, budgets and financial reportingDemonstrated experience with creating and maintaining complex financial spreadsheetsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and exercise good judgementAttention to detail and dependabilityDesired Qualifications*Experience with U-M financial practices and processesExperience with reviewing staffing effort changes on sponsored projectsPrior experience with eGrAMS and MDHHSPrevious experience with the U-M eResearch Proposal Management systemPrevious experience with MPathways, Business Objects, and other complimentary U-M financial systems is desiredU-M EEO StatementThe University of Michigan is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
