Ferrara/KME Vehicle FinisherFerrara/KME are premiere manufacturers of fire trucks and emergency response vehicles offering a full line of pumpers, aerials, industrial, wildland, and rescue apparatus. Working hands-on with both municipal and industrial fire departments, the Ferrara/KME team thrives on diagnosing departments' current apparatus limitations and response needs to custom design the perfect fire apparatus solution that will stand the test of time.Ferrara/KME is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment, including fire and emergency vehicles, waste and recycling equipment, RV's, and machinery supporting construction, utilities, and infrastructure. With operations across the U.S. and globally, we are committed to safety, innovation, and quality while building products our customers depend on every day.Perform duties relating to the finishing and buffing of painted vehicle surfaces, as part of the manufacturing of large, custom special purpose vehicles, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Sand down painted surfacesOperate a buffer and understand the steps required to buff paint to a proper finishMay be required to climb on vehicles and be required to wear fall protectionMust keep the work area safe and clean to facility standardsMay perform other duties as assigned.Required education, skills, and experiences to be successful:Preferred 1-year experience in automotive paint prep and body repairPreferred high school diploma or GEDAbility to run dual action sanders, grinders, and miscellaneous hand toolsAbility to communicate professionally and follow directionsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to perform tasks within time standards and maintain quality standardsMust have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standardsPhysical demands of this role:Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders and scaffoldingAbility to regularly lift and move 50 lbs. without assistanceAbility to work with arms above headAbility to work from ladders or scaffoldingAbility to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.Ability to wear a dust mask and/or respiratorAbility to work in non-temperature-controlled environmentsAbility to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (Minus specific breaks)Terex Corporation is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
