Job description
1st Shift Finishing OperatorWe are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Finishing Operator to join our team! The Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width.ResponsibilitiesReceives job assignments from Press Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for jobReviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressedInspects products to ensure quality integrity and packages productsObserves flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and windingEnsures quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shippedAssists in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobsPerforms preventative maintenance on machinesRemoves or replaces blades on inspection machinesCompletes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customerKeeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standardsQualificationsReceives job assignments from Press Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for jobReviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressedInspects products to ensure quality integrity and package productsObserves flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and windingEnsures quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shippedAssists in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobsPerforms preventative maintenance on machinesRemoves or replaces blades on inspection machinesCompletes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customerKeeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standardsPay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
