Job OpportunityIt's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.Position OverviewFinishing Operator fills batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type. Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.Areas of FocusThe Finishing Operator will be committed to performing the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator.ResponsibilitiesLevel IOn/Off Bear batteries from production lineUnderstand and practice the Quality policyUse hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc.Work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plantCapable of working in extreme temperatures and heavy environment is a plusStrong team skillsSolve problems and recommend solutionsAll employees must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on siteLift 50-80 lbs. and stand for long periods of timeRemove caps and perform visual check to ensure that batteries are facing correctly when transmitting through the conveyorCorrectly apply proper vent caps, ensuring a tight seal, and apply labels to batteriesLevel IICan perform all assigned duties of Level IProper disposition of defective batteries to MRBOperate Hydrometer during disposition testingStack batteries on pallet in configuration according to work orderOperate Wrapping Machine and identify malfunctions with the equipmentIdentify arc marks, banding, and other defects on batteries, pull from conveyor and send to repairOperate battery washing machine; check PH levels, replenish chemicals as neededConduct HRD testingIdentifies problems and performs minor adjustments to correctNotifies Lead of more complex problemsDetermine which product parts and raw materials to use for various processes and packagingAssist in set up of the automatic equipmentUnderstand and complete all required QA reportsMeets all production requirementsMeets all quality requirements and standardsOther duties as assignedLevel IIICan perform all assigned duties of Level I and IICan set up and perform each function in all areasRoutinely performs set up and operate all equipment in the department (for example, HRD, wrapping machine, battery washer, battery dumper, automatic acid filler, date coder, air tester, etc.)Perform PM, adjust and troubleshoot equipmentInspect battery for other defectsRead meters and calculate averages during voltage testing for different types of batteriesRead and record voltmeter and hydrometer during disposition testingIdentify cause of any rejects during testing and forward to QAProficient knowledge of all product parts, processes (i.e., part numbers, labeling, caps), and all product regulations and requirementsPerform visual inspections for quality and quantity. Take a highly active role in maintaining product quality. Identify problems, seek causes and effects and perform minor to complex adjustments to line functions to correct. Notify Team Lead of only most complex problemsConfirm all work orders match production and that all documentation for department is properly loggedPrepare daily production reportsRead Bill of Materials and Visual Reference Guide to determine proper orientation of batteriesOther duties as assignedBasic QualificationsHigh School Diploma or greater2-3 years' manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work historyBasic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructionsBasic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)Must be clean shavenSalary Range: $21.00 - $23.00/hrOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
