Fire And Security TechnicianOhio Valley Integration Services, Inc. (OVIS), a leading low voltage contractor is seeking an experienced Fire and Security technician for the Central Ohio Area based out of our Sidney, Ohio office. Wage Range: $28-$40.Description for Technician:Computer and programming skillsProficient with fire alarm systems (preferably Notifier & Firelite)Proficient with access control and security systems (preferably S2, Galaxy, NetAxys, Kantech, Ademco, DSC)Proficient with video camera systems (preferably S2, Interlogix, Hikvision, Pelco, Exacq)Knowledge of design, installation, and testing of the above systemsRespect for safety concerns, in particular ladders and LiftsEssential Qualifications and Duties for Technician:High School Diploma or equivalent3 years of electronics backgroundState of Ohio fire alarm LicenseStanding up to 8-10 hours per dayWalking considerable distances and occasionally over non-level surfacesAble to use hand and power toolsAbility to wear proper protective equipment such as safety glasses, helmets, boots, and other items as requiredLift up to 60 lbs.Sit, reach, bend, crawlWork in cramped and closed areasAble to communicate in EnglishAbility to read and understand technical manuals and bulletinsAbility to function in various climate and lighting environmentsAbility to climb and work from laddersHave a clean driving recordAbility to pass background check and drug testAbility to travelCommon Responsibilities: Access Control/Security:Install access control panels, controllers, wiring and door hardware needed for a complete system.Read technical manuals on the controllers and devicesUnderstand computer platforms, software and systemsInstallation & setup of IP and Analog cameras and camera systemsInstall and Program intrusion systemsFire Alarm:Fire Alarm technician with strong commercial building experienceMaintain, repair, service and install Fire AlarmKnowledge of industry standards and state/local codes and requirementsPerform Fire Alarm service and/or install, verifying system performance; maintaining recordsPrepare for Fire Alarm installations by reviewing installation orders; gathering equipment, supplies, and toolsParticipate in after-hours on-call customer service rotationEstablishes Fire Alarm system by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standardsVerifies Fire Alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals while identifying and correcting problemsMaintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practicesCoordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agenciesLocate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiringReadjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operationRead blueprints, building and electrical plansRequirements:As a condition of employment, all employees must furnish and utilize a smart phone with internet capability and access for daily work related time keeping purposes.We offer excellent benefits to eligible employees.Area Energy & Electric is an equal employment opportunity employer.
