Fire MedicPay Rate: $52,100-$83,900Category/Shift: Salaried Full-TimePhysical Location: 601 County Road 78, Selma, ALThe Job You Will Perform:Provide Incident Command support and leadership to the mill Emergency Response TeamRespond to all mill site emergencies - fire, hazardous materials, medical and natural disastersDaily inspect and audit ERT response truck and emergency equipment.Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment; resolve injury management concerns; complete paperworkAssist the Riverdale Mill's Fire Chief with inspections/tests/maintenance of the mill's fire protection systemsInterface with Corporate Risk Management and FM Global, especially with fire system impairmentsServe as a relief IPCC for the fire chief with managing fire system contractorsEvaluate and oversee permitting of high-risk tasksCollaborate with the Fire Chief for developing and implementing training plans for the mill Emergency Response TeamAssist with classroom and field instruction for the mill Emergency Response TeamParticipate in critical planning discussions that involve emergency response scenarios.Work with area teams to review and organize emergency plans for all high-risk areas / tasks.Participate with reviewing required SOPs concerning ERT training, equipment maintenance & calibration, and rescue plans.Act as a liaison between mill and outside emergency services.Develop and manage confined entry rescue plans.Maintain a current roster of all active members of the ERT Team.Encourage and campaign for new membership, actively promote ERT Team through mill communicationsParticipate in new hire integration process to train on relevant emergency response procedures and preventative measuresAssist with conducting SCBA refilling, inspections, and training throughout the mill.Assist Mill Nurses to assist in any medical related duties.The Skills You Will Bring:Minimum Qualifications:Certified Basic EMTConfined Space RescueHigh Angle Rescue and Emergency Rope/Knots TechniquesOperations Level trained in hazardous material responseTrained to Firefighter Mod. 1Must be able to work shift rotation including night and weekends.Preferred Qualifications:Fire Officer 1 certificationCertified Advanced EMTTrained in all aspects of Incident CommandTrained in rescue operationsTrained in basic industrial fire fightingBasic knowledge of fire protection systemsAt least two years of Emergency Response experience
