Creating a healthy work-life balance and ensuring everyone makes it home safely is our top priority.Benefits We Offer:Benefits and hourly rates are provided through the local union organization (UA Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters)Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice PositionAs a Fire Sprinkler Fitter for Viking, and a valued member of the UA Local Union, you will play a critical role in assisting with the installation and repairs of fire sprinkler systems in diverse types of buildings, ensuring they meet all safety codes and standards. You will work alongside a skilled team, utilizing your expertise to assess blueprints, select appropriate materials, and provide high-quality craftsmanship to protect lives and property from fire damage.Job ResponsibilitiesLearn to install, repair, and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including wet, dry, deluge, and preaction systems, fire pumps and standpipe systems.Responsible for installing and servicing other fire protection equipment such as carbon dioxide systems, halon systems, foam systems, and dry chemical systems.Travel within the states of ND, SD, MN, NE to work on various locations/job sites; as necessary.Comply with union collective bargaining agreement.Job QualificationsWilling to become a member of the UA Local Union.Be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or GED required.No prior experience is required.Possess a valid driver's license; in accordance with Company policy.Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds; with or without reasonable accommodation.Willing to climb ladders; with or without reasonable accommodation.Strong mechanical background is preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment; with or without reasonable accommodation.Able to pass a post-offer drug test and background check, if applicable.EEO statement/Affirmative Action:Viking Fire Protection Group is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of religion, disability, protected veteran status, age, sex, race, color, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by law.Viking Fire Protection Group complies with federal and state disability laws and will make reasonable accommodations for applicants and qualified employees with disabilities.
