Fire Sprinkler InspectorJensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector with a strong background in fire sprinkler systems ensuring proper installation, maintained, and compliant with safety codes to work at the TSMC facility in Phoenix, AZ. The position requires technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to interface effectively with clients.The Fire Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for on-site inspection, verification, and documentation of fire sprinkler system installations at a large-scale manufacturing facility under construction. This role ensures that all fire sprinkler systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, applicable codes and standards, project specifications, and company quality requirements. This role serves as a key liaison between field crews, project management, engineering, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular inspections of fire sprinkler systems, including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, and control panels, to ensure proper operation and compliance with local, state, and national fire codesTest and evaluate system functionality, including alarms, control valves, and piping systems, and perform maintenance or recommend corrective actions as neededIdentify potential fire hazards and document deficiencies in detailed reports, including photographs and notesCollaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors to address fire safety concerns and provide guidance on proper system maintenanceEducate staff on fire sprinkler system operation, maintenance, and testing proceduresMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and system performance for compliance and safety auditsDocumentation & Reporting:Maintain detailed inspection records, daily reports, and photographic documentation.Support preparation of inspection reports, deficiency lists, and closeout documentation.Assist with test documentation, including hydrostatic tests, flushes, and acceptance testing.Coordination & Communication:Coordinate with installation crews, subcontractors, project managers, and engineers to resolve field issuesInterface with AHJs, third-party inspectors, and client representatives during inspections and acceptance testingCommunicate schedule impacts, quality concerns, and field observations clearly and professionallySafety & Compliance:Enforce jobsite safety policies and ensure inspections are conducted in compliance with site safety requirementsIdentify unsafe conditions related to fire protection work and escalate as necessarySupport company and site-specific quality and safety programsProject Support:Assist with constructability reviews and field verification prior to inspectionsParticipate in punch list development and system turnover activitiesProvide technical input to project teams based on field observationsQualifications:Required:Experience in fire sprinkler inspection, installation, or quality control within commercial or industrial construction environmentsWorking knowledge of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25)Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and specificationsStrong attention to detail and documentation skillsProficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, inspection/reporting tools)Ability to work full-time on an active construction sitePreferred:NICET certification (any level) in Fire Protection Engineering TechnologyExperience on large manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical facilitiesPrior experience interacting with AHJs and third-party inspectorsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationPhysical & Work Environment Requirements:Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and work in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds as requiredExtended periods of standing, walking, and visual inspectionRelocation assistance provided
