Guardian delivers comprehensive, end-to-end service across the fire, life safety and security industries.About the OpportunityGuardian Fire Protection is currently hiring Apprentice for the Fire Sprinkler division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand and essential trade. Guardian will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician.We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that can provide a well paying income with training, certification and years of quality hard work.Job DutiesAssist in the service, repair, inspections, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.Support technicians with inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and standpipe systems.Learn and follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures.Perform basic pipe fitting, cutting, threading, grooving, and assembly tasks under supervision.Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.Maintain a clean and organized work environment at customer locations and company facilities.Complete required training programs and safety certifications.Accurately document work performed and assist with service reports.Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements.QualificationsA current valid driver's license with 3 or less points is required.Three years of licensed driving experience is required.Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.Capable and willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems in order to pass tests and become certified.Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.Ability to lift up to 70lbsAbility to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spacesSkills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.Benefits401K with a company matchMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceCompany paid Short Term DisabilityCompany paid Long Term DisabilityCompany paid Life and AD&D insurancePre-tax accounts for health and dependent careAflacVacation and Personal timePaid holidaysTuition ReimbursementGuardian Fire Protection Services is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibits employment discrimination for employees and applicants based on his or her age, race, color, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, citizenship, or because he or she is an individual with a disability, protected veteran or other status protected by federal, state, and local laws.
