Firefighter 4Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Firefighter 4 to join our Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire Protection team at the BWI Site in Linthicum, Maryland. The selected applicant will be responsible for successfully implementing all fire and building code related programs at the BWI Site and other Mission Systems sites in Maryland in addition to supporting our Structural Fire Brigades and Hazardous Materials (Haz-Mat) Response teams at BWI Site and the Advanced Technology Laboratories locations in Baltimore, MD.What You'll Get To Do:Conducting periodic building fire safety inspectionsInspection of new construction for building and fire code complianceSupporting facilities engineering with construction plan reviewsSupporting in-house and sector EHSFP auditsInspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systemsInspection, testing and maintenance of water based and special suppression systemsSupporting and responding to fire and hazardous materials incidentsTraining and supporting in-house emergency response teams and building evacuationsCoordinating with outside emergency response teams to mitigate incidents quickly and efficiently to minimize production down time as well as assisting in recovery effortsIn addition, this position maintains the essential PPE required for use with our emergency response and fire brigade teams as required by the NFPA and OSHA standards.Basic Qualifications:6 years of fire service experience and a High School Diploma and working knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), and will be required to respond to fire and hazardous materials incidentsFire Inspector II and Firefighter I certifications from the National Board on Fire Service Professional QualificationsKnowledge of all applicable Federal, State and local codes and ordinances as they relate to fire protection, life safety, building construction, fire control, and fire detectionAbility to obtain a Haz-Mat Technician certification from the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications which will also require annual medical surveillance and medical certification for the use of self-contained breathing apparatusPreferred Qualifications:The optimal candidate would possess an Associate Degree in Fire Science or related field and/or possess certification as a Firefighter II, Fire Inspector III, Hazmat Technician, Fire Service Instructor I and 10 years experience in the Fire Prevention field.Primary Level Salary Range: $69,300.00 - $115,500.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
