Firefighter RecruitThe City of Mayfield is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter Recruit. As a dual role service applicant will be required to be a minimum of a Kentucky certified EMT. Advanced EMT or Paramedic desired. Applicant will be required to have a valid CPAT card. Duties required will be responding to 911 EMS, Fire, Rescue and non emergent EMS calls. Other daily tasks will include but are not limited to training, station chores, maintaining cleanliness and readiness of trucks as well as report writing and EMS charting. Applicant will be scheduled to work a 24 / 48 Schedule.Applicant must possess valid CPAT and EMS license as stated above. Some consideration may be given to students enrolled in EMS course pending testing and completion. Active Ky career firefighters may be exempt from CPAT requirement.Applicants must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED. Applicant must have a valid Ky Drivers License. Applicant must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.Applications may be printed on our city website or picked up in person at City Clerks office. You may contact Assistant Chief Michael Rowland for directions to location to drop off.Starting pay is as follows:EMT-B $42,000 Annually + $4,300 State firefighter incentive upon completion of Ky Basic II firefighter certificationAEMT $44,700 Annually + $4,300 State firefighter incentive upon completion of Ky Basic II firefighter certificationParamedic $48,900 Annually + $4,300 State firefighter incentive upon completion of Ky Basic II firefighter certificationAdditional pay earned with longevity and advancement in rank. CERS Hazardous Duty Retirement (Estimated 25 Year Retirement). Health, Dental, Vision and life Insurance as well as a flexible spending account. (accidental and other policies offered). EAP (Employee Assistance Program). Paid Vacation, Holiday and Sick leave given in first year of employment. Educational opportunities offered free to employees as needed; to advance from basic level to AEMT or Paramedic.
