Job description
Firefighter/EMTNature of Work: Firefighter/EMT as licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health as having successfully completed an approved course of instruction and is in substantial compliance with all additional requirements, may render emergency medical care to the sick and injured at the scene of an emergency and during transport to a hospital until such time as patient care responsibility can be assumed by hospital personnel.Essential Functions: GeneralTypical duties are defined by the Alabama Public Health Department. See licensure description for EMT. Alabama Firefighter I/II as defined by the Alabama Fire College.Minimum Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Training and experience equivalent to:Must be 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to meet minimum physical fitness standards.Must have successfully completed an EMT Course and be licensed by the State of Alabama.Valid Alabama driver's license with the ability to be insured by the city's liability insurance carrier.Must have successfully completed Alabama Firefighter I/II course.
