Want to develop embedded software where you can actually see and test what your code is controlling?
I’m working with a global engineering business developing next-generation cryogenic vacuum technology. They’re looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a cross-functional team of firmware, electrical and mechanical engineers, developing software for highly engineered pumps, chillers and compressor systems.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across new development and existing products, taking firmware from requirements and implementation through integration and testing on real equipment.
What you’ll do
Develop embedded applications for cryogenic pumps, chillers and compressors
Own firmware from requirements through implementation, integration and system testing
Develop multi-threaded embedded applications
Work with and improve existing/legacy codebases
Develop test suites and automated engineering validation tests
Carry out hands‑on testing using real equipment in a lab environment
What you’ll need
5+ years of embedded firmware/software engineering experience
Strong C and C++ programming experience
Experience with embedded controls and real-time systems
Experience working within Linux and/or RTOS environments
Knowledge of communication protocols and device drivers such as SPI, CAN, Serial, EEPROM and Flash
Degree in Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering
