Eaton’s Residential Wiring Device division is currently seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern / Co-op .
This position can either be a rotational co-op assignment, or a Summer 2027 internship.
The hourly rate for this position is $22.15 - $27.69 per hour . Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The Firmware Engineering Intern / Co-Op will perform electronic circuit design, both analog and digital, for products related to our Assemblies and Residential Solutions Division.
In This Function, You Will
Contribute to firmware and software development for embedded systems/microcontrollers.
Support software development using code repositories, code reviews, build servers, and agile methods.
Stay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with a particular emphasis on embedded and connected systems, and evaluate their potential impact on Eaton’s business.
Support the research and development of business cases in the new product development cycle to understand the viability of proposed products in the marketplace.
Support the enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plans.
Represent Eaton’s interests on councils and committees tasked with developing codes and standards for emerging technologies in which Eaton is investing.
Support and perform technical evaluations of third‑party solutions and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or identify new suppliers.
Support product certification activities, including UL/CSA.
Qualifications
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar from an accredited institution with graduation no later than August 2029
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Moon Township, PA.
