nJob Description:
nSuccessful applicants for the First Officer position at UPS must have the ability to perform Part 121 revenue flying and maintain all FAA required licenses, ratings, and certifications. Flight crews are responsible for the safe, on time, and efficient operation of UPS aircraft.
nAll applicants must possess the following qualifications:
nRequired Skills:
nnnHold a current unrestricted ATP certificate with an Airplane category multi-engine class rating and English proficiency endorsement.
n
nnHold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
n
nnHold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
n
nnMust be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
n
nnMust have a valid passport and documentation allowing for entry into the United States after an International flight.
n
nnHave a minimum of 1500 hours of total fixed-wing pilot time.
n
nnMinimum of 1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in fixed-wing jet and/or fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop per 14 CFR 1.1.
n
nnUPS will allow military candidates to add a plus (.3) per sortie factor to flight time.
n
nnPilot in Command, per 14 CFR 1.1, means the person who:
n
nnHas final authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of the flight.
n
nnHas been designated as the pilot in command before or during the flight.
n
nnHolds the appropriate category, class, and type rating, if appropriate, for the conduct of the flight.
n
n nPreferred Skills:
nnnBachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
n
nnRecent and type of experience will be considered; for example, preference given to candidates with demonstrated flight experience in transport category aircraft within the last 12 months from date of application.
n
n nInterpersonal Skills:
nnnWork cooperatively with others, including those who may hold divergent views.
n
nnCommunicate orally within a cockpit environment to clearly convey procedures, conversation, and radio transmissions.
n
nnCapability of decision making under stress.
n
nnThe ability to adapt to diversified flight schedules, situations, or scenarios.
n
n nAdditional Notes:
nAs part of the UPS pre-employment process for a safety sensitive position, a drug screen is required. UPS must receive a negative test result before you can be put into a safety sensitive position (14 CFR Part 120.107).
nPlease be advised that you will be tested in accordance with 14 CFR Part 120.109(a)(5) and 14 CFR 120 Subpart E to determine the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opiates (including codeine, heroin-6AM, morphine), opioids- hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone & oxymorphone, phencyclidine (PCP), and amphetamines/methamphetamines (including MDMA, MDA) or metabolites of these drugs.
