Role Description The First Shift Maintenance Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Winchester, IN. This role is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting machinery, diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues, completing repairs, and documenting all work performed. The technician will conduct preventive maintenance activities according to schedules, support equipment start-ups, and collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with equipment installations, maintaining tools and parts inventory, following safety and compliance standards, and communicating maintenance needs and progress to supervisors.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance for production and facility systems.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
Candidates should possess experience in Preventive Maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Candidates should possess hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills for machinery, tools, and support equipment.
Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with industrial safety practices, ability to read technical manuals or schematics, basic mechanical and electrical knowledge, and experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong communication skills, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on first shift are required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training or certification in maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
