Job description
Fitness Floor StaffThe Old Colony Y Plymouth Branch is looking for fitness floor staff to join our team. Responsibilities may include:Clean and maintain all equipment assigned during shift. Clean additional areas if time allows.Use appropriate cleaning/maintenance materials.Stock all areas with appropriate cleaning materials.Follow appropriate procedures when equipment fails. (use log, numbering system, proper signage, etc)Fix equipment when appropriate (reset, etc).Make regular sweeps through all areas of the fitness center, to ensure safety and cleanliness. Take proper action when not up to standard (stack weights, pick up magazines).Clean and restock maintenance closets including eco dispensers.Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.Dust furniture, ledges, railings and window sills daily.Report missing / found articles, damage or maintenance problems to the building supervisors.Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to members and other staff.Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.Report to work in required uniform and in adherence with the Old Colony YMCA Dress Code Policy.Must be able to work independently and as a team playerAge 16 and over. Ability to work with people of all ages. Good verbal and communication skills. Must be mature, responsible, and professional. Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop during the work day. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance.
